Business and Civil Litigation

CIVIL LITIGATION DEPARTMENT

The Civil Litigation department of Rallo|Travieso is headed by Arthur J. Travieso, a partner with over 27 years direct first chair trial experience. We are no stranger to complex, high-stakes disputes. Our clients, whether they are individuals or corporations, turn to us for help with their most difficult legal issues. We work closely with them to understand their businesses, identify potential areas of legal exposure, devise strategies to manage risk, and, where appropriate, resolve disputes short of trial. If it comes to trial, our firm wins with regularity. Our clients have prevailed in hundreds of cases before judges and juries in jurisdictions throughout State and Federal Courts in California and elsewhere.

Our litigators include leading practitioners in contractual disputes, real estate lawsuits, commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense, product liability, unfair competition, financial services, trade secrets, privacy, and employment litigation. Our attorneys have been partners at large multinational law firms of over 800 attorneys and bring that “big firm” experience at a more competitive price to our clients. Our clients have included clients as small as “mom-and-pop” companies and as large as multinational construction corporations and insurance exchanges. Our team includes lawyers with technical degrees in biological and environmental sciences. This experience provides our clients with a competitive edge in analyzing claims and defenses with respect to technology, life sciences, financial services, and consumer products.

We handle litigation as both Plaintiff’s Counsel and as Defense Counsel depending on the case. We know how to try a case from both sides of the dispute, unlike most civil attorneys that focus on plaintiff claims or serve solely as defense counsel. This gives our firm an edge in litigation when we are dealing with our client’s claims.

Representative cases that we handle include the following:

  • Business Litigation

  • Contract Disputes

  • Real Estate Litigation

  • Regulatory and Zoning Litigation

  • Employment Disputes

  • White Collar Criminal Defense

  • Intellectual Property Litigation (Trademarks and Copyrights)

  • Environmental Litigation (Toxic Torts—Mold, Lead Paint)

  • Landlord-Tenant Litigation (Commercial and Residential)

  • Administrative Law
